Fiona has a Degree in International Politics and a Masters in Industrial Relations, and has worked in a range of posts covering business planning, funding, regeneration and strategic business development.
Prior to joining the SRC in November 2002, Fiona was instrumental in establishing the Ceramic Industry Forum, a DTI-funded company set up to aid the competitiveness of the UK ceramic sector.
This included establishing public-private partnerships, and overseeing projects with regional, national and European funding and support.
As Director of the SRC Fiona's key areas of work include maintaining the political and industry profile of the retail sector in Scotland through information sharing, media engagement, research activity and developing links with key sector partners, including the Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament.
This is supported by representation on a wide range of public and private sector action groups, committees and boards, including the Board
of the Scottish Business Crime Centre
and the Scottish Committee of the Institute of Directors
Fiona is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commence, and a member of the Institute of Directors.
