Fernando Medina
Longtime Orlando Magic team photographer, Fernando Medina, was recently recognized by Sports Illustrated in its 100 Greatest Sports Photos of All Time for his iconic image of Michael Jordan's last shot of his Bulls' career. To me, it represents what this country is all about," said Medina. Medina has been associated with the Magic since franchise inception in 1989. Entering his 23rd year with the team, Medina was assigned as official team photographer in 1996. He spent the first seven seasons as part of the team's photography department. During his work with the Magic, Medina served as team photographer for the now defunct International Hockey League's Orlando Solar Bears from 1995 thru their final championship season in 2001. He now serves as team photographer for the new East Coast Hockey League franchise, the Orlando Solar Bears, who began play in 2012. He has worked as a contributing photographer for NBA Photos, Getty Images, WireImage, Reuters and US Presswire photographing NFL, MLB, NCAA basketball and football games, as well as NASCAR and Grand-AM auto racing events.
