The funding made available by the two open MPs to women of their electorates caused some disgruntled noises from the women of Defence Minister Fabian Pok's North Wahgi electorate who wanted to know whether they would receive some help from him.
The MPs said the participation of a large number of women in the province indicated the hunger in women to work alongside their male counterparts to be equal partners in developing the new province.
Provincial Women's Representative and PEC member Rosen Kiap said the launching was done to put in place a women network in all the six LLGs as well as launch the structure, which was incorporated ecumenically as 99 per cent of the women are all members of different church groups.
She said the women would work according to their development structures to increase micro-economic activities to improve the lifestyle and socio-economic activities within family units.
