He was employed by Bates and Anderson Funeral Home in Hudson, New York for thirteen years. In 1968 he purchased the then Rector-Funeral Chapel in Geneseo, New York. He was the licensed manager for twenty years, changing the name to the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home in 1968. Frank remains "semi" retired and spends the winter months in Pawley's Island, South Carolina with his wife Bea.

He is a member and former Vestry of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Geneseo, Past President of the Livingston County Funeral Directors Association, former Vice President and current member of the Rochester Genesee Valley Funeral Directors Association, Past President and current member of the Fingerlakes Crematory Board of Directors, and member of the Livingston Country Club where he served on its Board of Directors. He is a member of Litchfield Country Club in Pawley's Island, South Carolina. In May of 2009 Frank was presented the prestigious lifetime achievement award by the Rochester Genesee Valley Funeral Directors Association. In August of 2010 the Geneseo Kiwanis Club presented Frank with the George Hixson Award, the highest honor in Kiwanis.
