The Connecticut Orthopaedic Society recently elected Ridgefield resident Dr. F. Scott Gray to serve as the organization's president. Gray is a founding partner of Connecticut Family Orthopedics, with offices in Danbury, Ridgefield, Southbury and Bridgeport. Dr. Gray is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society and Fairfield County Medical Association. He is a foot and ankle surgical specialist at Danbury Hospital, and served as the Orthopaedic Trauma Coordinator for many years. Gray has a history of innovative and pioneering contributions to the surgery department at Danbury Hospital. He was the first to perform cartilage transplant surgery in the ankle, and the first to perform a total ankle replacement in western Connecticut.

Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Rhode Island with Honors. He attended the Georgetown University School of Medicine where he did research on bone healing physiology. He did a general surgical internship and one year of residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, and then returned home to Boston where he did his orthopedic residency at Tufts University School of Medicine. It was then that he received specialty training in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Gray joined Connecticut Family Orthopedics in Danbury in 1987 and established our office in Ridgefield in 1988. During his 4 year tenure as Managing Partner, Connecticut Family Orthopedics became one of the first orthopedic offices in the state to be completely computerized.
