Ernie Tremblay, Editorial Director
Ernie Tremblay provides writing and editing support for Strategic Communications & Planning (SCP) clients in a variety of media, including feature stories, press releases, reports, monographs, briefs, and blog entries. Having joined SCP in March 2005 after spending 27 years in the book publishing industry, Ernie's extensive writing experience and ability to communicate clear messaging of complicated policy initiatives are invaluable resources at SCP.
Before coming to SCP, Ernie served as a senior, then managing editor at-large of women's health books at Prevention Books, Rodale Inc.; senior editor of health, self-help, and communications books at Prentice Hall Direct; and acquisitions consultant for BenBella Books. He has also had his own editorial consulting service since 1977, with a client list that includes Ballantine Books; Harper Collins; Dell; Bantam; Delacorte; Banbury; Penguin Putnam/Avery; JTIS/UMI (Xerox, Inc.); the Independence Hall Association; Eagle/Lifeline; Rebus; Reader's Digest; Chelsea House; Guilford Press; Stewart, Tabori, and Chang; Health Communications Inc.; Humanities Press; DeCapo Books; Lehigh University; and Healthmonitor (Data Centrum Communications, Inc.).
Ernie, as author, co-author, or editor, has contributed to over 100 published books that cover a broad range of topics, including health, biography, medicine, biology, psychology, self-help, communications, computer science, European history, military history, and philosophy.
Ernie has also written two published novels and six produced stage plays. He served as literary manager at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia for several seasons and taught playwriting both at the Walnut and at the Wilma theatres in Philadelphia for a total of ten years. He wrote scripts for industrial and educational films for Wawa Inc., AMP, and many other corporate clients. In the late 1970s, he wrote for a locally produced CBS television program, Earth Limited.
Ernie received a BS in international relations from St. Joseph's University. In his spare time, he continues to pursue his profound love for classical and jazz guitar, the martial art Aikido, and languages, with a working knowledge of Portuguese and German and some very basic French.
Most recently, Ernie is enjoying his new role as a grandfather after the birth of his first grandson a few months ago.
