In 1996, only 21 percent of degrees in technical fields were earned by women.Only 2 percent of working women over 20 are in the technology industry.
A recent study conducted by the American Association of University Women's Educational Foundation
revealed that "girls are avoiding high tech careers, not because they fear failing, but because they believe computer jobs to be boring and lonely."
