Eric Clark, current principal of Moundridge Middle School and assistant principal at Moundridge High School, will become the administrator for Elyria Christian School beginning next school year. Clark taught at Hesston High School for ten years before coming to Moundridge. In addition to his teaching and administrative career, Eric is also a trainer and consultant for Responsibility-Centered Discipline (RCD), a program founded by Larry Thompson, former principal at Hesston High School, and Angela Thompson. Clark has spent the past ten years traveling the nation training educators in the "Give 'Em Five" techniques of RCD. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from Tabor College. He earned his Master of Science degree in School Leadership from Baker University. "Elyria Christian allows me the opportunity to combine several of my passions - my faith, education, and serving others," Clark said. "I've explored the possibility of working for a Christian school before, but the fit was never quite right. From the moment I stepped onto the ECS campus and visited with members of the Board and staff, I knew I was surrounded by an educational family dedicated to this organization, its spiritual mission, and a vision for the future. It's exciting to join the ECS team. I look forward to getting to know the students and their families in months to come." Moundridge School District has discussed letting Clark go as a result of budget reductions. However, Clark said he doesn't want people to think this move was just a backup plan. "I've been talking with Elyria for almost a year about making this transition. At the start of the year, I saw the forecast and thought this was the direction I was being led," he said. "I don't want people to feel like this was a fallback position. It's something I've been interested in for a long time." Clark will be responsible for overseeing Elyria Christian School's Kindergarten through 12th grade operation as well as development and marketing. "We are thrilled to have Mr. Clark join the ECS staff," said Rhonda Stucky, interim administrator for Elyria Christian School. "Eric is an outstanding leader who has a heart for students and a desire to see them reach their greatest potential in all areas of life. Mr. Clark brings a dynamic combination of educational experience, strong leadership qualities, and a passion for serving Christ."

In this 90-minute webinar, Eric Clark will draw upon his experience as a media/communications teacher, media entrepreneur, administrator and master trainer to help teachers sort through tools that can be useful in the classrooms while harnessing the power of technology.
