Rev. Eric Campbell, Assistant Pastor
Eric was born in Atlanta and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
made a public profession of faith and was baptized at age 11 at the First Baptist Church
Following some significant experiences including short-term mission trips, youth music camps, and international choir tours, he
responded to the call to full-time music ministry in 1990.
Upon graduation from high school the following year, he went to West Palm Beach, Florida, to earn his Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music and Piano Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
From 1995 to 1998, he served as Music and Worship Associate at the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach.
Answering the call to study worship and theology, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1998 to earn the Master of Divinity in Worship degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
While attending seminary (1998-2003), he served as Associate Minister of Music and Worship at Little Flock Baptist Church.
There he served as pianist for the church and directed a music missions ensemble (Evidencia Viva) that presented the gospel in Spanish on five successive mission trips in Mexico, Venezuela, and Uruguay.
Upon graduation from seminary, he accepted the call to serve here at First Baptist Church as Minister of Worship in June, 2003.
Second Corinthians 3:18 summarizes Eric's vision for corporate worship: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."
