ERIC AASENDivision Chief, Santa Cruz Fire Department Eric has been a Santa Cruz County resident since 1970.He currently serves as Division Chief in charge of training and safety with Santa Cruz Fire Department.Still certified as a paramedic, much of his past has been focused on enhancing the delivery of emergency medical care to the community.He is currently working to establish a public access defibrillator program for the City of Santa Cruz.Eric completed his Master's degree in emergency services administration from California State University Long Beach.He will focus on teaching principles of disaster management to enhance community preparedness.He is a member of the Santa Cruz Elks, Cub Scouts of America, and coaches various youth sports teams.He and his wife are actively involved at their children's school through the parent-teacher club, site council, and working in the classroom.His wife, Karlyn, and their children, Kirby and Taylin, live in Santa Cruz.
