Marroquin is a graduate of Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) with a BSc in chemical and systems engineering, graduating magna cum laude. He also earned a MASc in chemical engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. He is currently involved with SMU John Goodwin Tower Center for Political Studies focused on launching initiatives that will foster Texas-Mexico business interactions. He also participates with ITESM and the Cox School of Business in diverse student mentoring and academic activities.
