Emma Shubin: Dalcroze™ License and MM

Flutist, Dalcroze™ Eurhythmics™ instructor, and Suzuki educator, Emma Shubin has been joyfully making music since the age of six. She is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy where she studied music, creative writing, and photography. A proponent of integrative education, Emma is the co-founder and director of the Colorado based non-profit Integral Steps, which strives to bring integrative education and balanced development to individuals, families, and communities through music, movement, psychotherapy, ecology and creative arts.
Emma received her MM in flute performance under the tutelage of Marco Granados (flute) and her Licensure and Certificate in Dalcroze™ with master Dalcroze™ pedagog Lisa Parker.
...
Emma received her BA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2012, and continues to be active in research around mammals and the effects of climate change on the Rocky Mountain Region.
Emma is always looking for ways to share her love of great music, masterful composers, mixed media, and the performers who bring their mediums to life with diverse audiences throughout the Front Range. She is the founder and director of the concert series Meet the Composer, focused on an in-depth exploration of one composer per performance, and Among Friends, a mixed media concert series dedicated to combining visual and musical mediums in performance.
She travels nationally and internationally making music in both classical and improvised genres, and is currently touring as the flutist and serving as the co-director of the Musical Arts Program with the Sounds of Lyons in Lyons, CO (SOL MAP) and Arts Evolution and BenFeng Music Festival throughout Taiwan. She served as the Eurhythmics™ Chair and Co-chair of the Music Fundamentals Program at Dana V. Music in Louisville, taught flute at the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts and Colorado Music Festival, and was an instructor with the Dalcroze School of the Rockies™. She has appeared as a Teaching Artist and Dalcroze™ clinician at the Metropolitan State College of Denver, the Desert Suzuki Institute (Las Vegas, NV), Cantabile Singers of Boulder, Boulder Valley School District, and Suzuki string institutes throughout the Denver-metro area, as well as the Lesley Ellis School (Arlington, MA).
Currently, Emma can be found enjoying the Rocky Mountain Region from her home in Louisville, CO where she works on various projects from composing and recording, performing and collaborating, to community engagement and integrative education and artistic events. She travels throughout the year performing all genres of music, giving workshops and masterclasses on audience engagement, Dalcroze™ Eurhythmics™ and Integrative education, and she teaches Skype/FaceTime and private lessons from Boston to Boulder and beyond.
