Emilio DeLiaBusiness Development DirectorBefore joining the NJ Spotlight team, Emilio DeLia served as principal of Greater Good Giving, a fundraising consulting company that helps nonprofits obtain the money necessary to fulfill their missions and deliver their programs.
Throughout his career he has worked locally, nationally, and internationally with a variety of organizations, most recently as the project manager of the New Jersey Recovery Fund, which supported long-term recovery from Hurricane Sandy and as development director of Hackensack Riverkeeper.

Emilio DeLia relies on a wide range of professional and academic experience to assist nonprofit organizations in the fulfillment of their missions and visions.
In 2009, Emilio co-founded Greater Good Giving, a fundraising consulting firm that mobilizes resources, partnerships and funding for nonprofit organizations.As Greater Good Giving's COO, Emilio is responsible for client relations, business development, accounting, drafting and negotiating contracts and managing employees.Also, Emilio currently serves as Development Director at Hackensack Riverkeeper, one of New Jersey's most impactful environmental organizations.Emilio is responsible for raising the organization's annual budget towards the restoration and protection of the river and watershed in which he lives.
During his tenure he successfully launched the organization's first Corporate Membership program, increased revenue of the annual gala by 70% and increased the number of major donors by 25%.
Furthermore, Emilio is President of the Board of Directors of the Jersey City Food Cooperative, which he helped found in 2010.Serving as the city's first cooperative dedicated to providing fresh and organic food to all Jersey City residents regardless of income, Emilio oversees the organization's operating structure, including fundraising activities, community outreach and coordinating cooperative "owners," volunteers and interns.Prior to the work described above, Emilio helped launch a new media start-up called ArsenalAV, a digital video production company.
During his tenure at ArsenalAVhe led the company's evolution from freelance venture to sophisticated, professional entity with such clients as Nike, Movado and Minute Maid.
Emilio's previous international and volunteer work includes teaching English to urban communities in Mexico, working with homeless populations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, working with the formally incarcerated in Jersey City, NJ and working with social, environmental and economic justice organizations in San Francisco.
Emilio also worked for the Government of the Dominican Republic affiliate organization, COPDES, focusing on the role of corporate social responsibility in the achievement of the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals.Emilio received a master's degree in Latin American Studies from New York University and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Clark University.Emilio resides in New Jersey with his wife and business partner, Alicia and their daughter.
Emilio DeLia, Development Director,brings over 10 years of nonprofit and business administration, community organizing, and fundraising experience to his role at Hackensack Riverkeeper.Emilio obtained his Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Government from Clark University and his Masterâ€™s Degree from New York University where he studied Economics at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
Most recently, Emilio and his wife Alicia founded Greater Good Giving, a fundraising consulting company.
Emilio is also the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Jersey City Food Co-op.
Additionally, he volunteers with Caretaker Acres of Mansfield, PA on their Nature Philosophy, Wilderness Retreat and Vision Quest programming.
A native of Jersey City who currently lives a stoneâ€™s throw from Newark Bay, Emilio is excited to work towards safeguarding and restoring the Hackensack River.
He is deeply inspired by the Riverkeeperâ€™s accomplishments and vision for the watershed and looks forward to furthering the organizationâ€™s mission and building its capacity.
For fun, Emilio enjoys hiking, camping, climbing trees, martial arts, kettlebells, and dancing.
