didn't quit her
After five long years of working full-time in academia and part-time as a entrepreneur, Elysia left her secretarial job at Chicago State University College of Pharmacy to dedicate her full attention to growing her business.
To prepare for growth, in June 2014, Ganier Designs, Inc.
soft-launched their Ready-to-Wear and Made-to-Order on-line boutique.
wanted to focus more on developing her
skills in manufacturing, sourcing and production.
She started an internship program where students would be able to gain experience in their field of study while earning credit from their college institution.
In July of 2014, Elysia had the honor of being chosen to serve as official Fashion Designer for the Miss Black Illinois USA Scholarship Pageant Systems, by the State Executive Director, Ms. Tina DeNard.
In August of 2014, Elysia
was selected as a RAWArtists!
is an art organization that provides resources, tools and exposure to up and coming artists.
They select some of the best local filmmakers, makeup artists, and more to be featured in their monthly showcases around the Unites States.

Unfortunately, in September 2014, Elysia
was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO).
This disease paralyzed her
from the chest to toe.
During these past months in the hospital and later released to physical therapy, she
began the biggest fight of her
Through the grace of GOD and his
POWER, some of Elysia's sensitivity and mobility has returned and now she
is on her
way to learning how to function with her
has been resilient and her
love for fashion is ever strong.
goal is to be fully functional as before but with this type of autoimmune disease, there's always the chance of a relapse.
remains positive in her
accomplishments and will not walk this journey alone in returning back to what she
loves the most.
will rebuild her
business one step at a time with help and step right back in line to finish her
