Elvira Medina, president of the National Center for Commuter Safety and Protection, noted the efforts of the HPG to ease the traffic and to discipline the motorists along the busy thoroughfare as she compared the cops to MMDA enforcers.
"The HPG people were really focused. They were not talking to each other. They were not using cellphones. They were not smoking. They were not sloppy," Medina said in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC's Headstart.
Medina called on the authorities to rid sidewalks of vendors and other obstructions that impede public mobility.
"Give back the sidewalks to the commuters so that they can be properly disciplined," she added.
Medina stressed that the country can only go so far with the new road measures through order and discipline.

"Bakit kamo eh mga ordinary factory workers at mga public students ang regular riders ng PNR, ano pa ang matitira sa mga ito," Medina said.
"We are begging President Benigno Aquino III to think trice before he allows the PNR administration to increase the fare on the trains," Medina added.
