ELIZABETH GRAY TATUM
practices in the area of commercial real estate focusing primarily on acquisition, development and construction of large scale retail shopping centers, retail, office and industrial leasing for landlords and tenants, and real estate finance for developers and lenders.
For the past fifteen years, Elizabeth has served as real estate counsel for the world's largest retailer throughout the State of Georgia.
In that capacity, Elizabeth
has handled all aspects of these real estate transactions to help accomplish the successful development and operation of her
client's many new shopping center developments and expansions.
negotiates and handles the land acquisitions, ground leases, building leases, assemblages, joint developments, easements, declarations, covenants, and operating agreements for these developments.
Elizabeth's experience also includes the financing, development and sales of all types of commercial real estate, large tract assemblages, and tax deferred exchanges for real estate developers, users and investors, including the assemblage of Coca-Cola Olympic Park for The Coca-Cola Company
in downtown Atlanta.
In addition to real estate development, Elizabeth has significant experience in tenant and landlord representation in office, retail and industrial leasing and serves as general counsel to an industrial converting company.
Elizabeth is a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) and served on the Planning Committee of the NAWL 2009 Mid Year Meeting and the Sponsor Committee of the NAWL 2009 National Night of Giving in Atlanta benefiting Girls, Inc.
Prior to becoming a partner with Tatum Hillman Hickerson & Powell, LLP, Elizabeth was a commercial real estate partner with Tatum, Levine & Powell, LLP (Atlanta, 1999-2009); an associate in the commercial real estate department of Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP (Atlanta, 1995-1999) and of Peterson Dillard Young Asselin & Powell (Atlanta, 1991-1995).
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Speech Communications in 1987 and from Mercer Law School, cum laude, in 1991.
While at Mercer, Elizabeth served on the Senior Staff of the Mercer Law Review (1990-1991).
