The lead PSPCA investigator on the case is Betty Sorrel.
PSPCA policy prohibits Sorrel from commenting, but sources say that she has been working on the case since at least fall of last year, when neighbors grossed out by the smell and concerned about the possibility of this scenario--or worse--began contacting authorities.
