I no longer think George has been plotting to take over Simon.
I think he's trying to buy a place in his grandson's life (not easy for a granddad whose child is no longer on the scene). He seemed genuinely upset by Peter's binge and he wasn't giving him booze or excuses. It will be interesting to see how George and Leanne react to seeing Peter drunk again. I think George wants him to drink again so he can lay claim to Simon. George was being rather pompous when he said Simon must have got his brains from his mother. I just wish Peter could wise up and see that George is trying to buy Simon with all his flash goodies. Good old Lord Tommy was, by Elizabeth George's description, blond and very smooth. They're talking about pollution and George says something about *Al Gore* and Simon says *Who's Al Gore??*. for some reason it went straight out of my memory! Simon says that because George is in his car and it's idling. I know some complain you can't understand Sophie and her friends half the time, but today I just could not understand most of what Simon said, especially to George while Leanne was walking him to school. George was sitting in his car as the 3 of them left their flat. JOe is so tedious, whiney and wimpy and boring!! And I thought Gail was bad!Poor old Tyrone, doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting and Rosie? I used to watch Keeping Up Appearances all the time and when her neighbour Liz would come over for coffe at Hyacinthe's insistence, she would always ask her if she wanted a teacup or a beaker. Then she would insist that poor nervous wreck Liz should use a beaker so she wouldn't break one of her periwinkle bordered fine china teacups! Betty: I take that back, I've just read on the label it is manufactured in Thailand, but there is a head office in Clifton, New Jersey. Wow, interesting. Lisa, to answer your question, judging by the various British real estate The cancer collection..er..jug, so much for anonymity when Betty broadcasts all the donations! Mary is still hovering around Norris and has talked him into letting her help in the Kabin. Lisa from Ontario (at 24.150.186.21) wrote on November 14, 2010, 01:42:
