Elise Frangos, Director of Curriculum, discussed the recent professional development day, held on January 13, and the upcoming one on January 18.
In the discussion of the presentations, Ms. Frangos said that one focal point was on the 'supervision and evaluation tool' set up as a model for teacher performance, which will come into play in September of 2012 for Mattapoisett and Rochester, and in 2013 for Marion. According to Ms. Frangos, the tool has two prongs: student performance and professional practices.

Elise Frangos
Director of English Services Elise is the Director of English Services for the Mass Math + Science Initiative. Elise brings 20 years of teaching experience, and 8 years in administration to MMSI. Most recently the K-12 English Language Arts Director for the Arlington Public Schools, Elise has also been a long-standing member of the MCAS test development committee. Elise holds a B.A. in English from Simmons College, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and she is a Ph.D. candidate in Language and Literacy from the University of Massachusetts.
