OTTAWA, ONTARIO - The Honourable Claudette Bradshaw, Minister of Labour, today announced the appointment of Elisabeth C. Kriegler as a part-time employer representative, to the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB).
...Ms. Kriegler has extensive experience in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces and is currently the Vice-President of Human Resources for NAV Canada.She has also served as the President and CEO of Change Management Consulting and as the President of Canada Post Systems Management Limited.She
has a sound understanding of change management as well as wide-ranging knowledge of regulatory and labour issues.Ms. Kriegler obtained a bachelor of economics degree from the University of Toronto.
Part-time members of the CIRB
are appointed under Section 9 (2) (d) of the Canada Labour Code, which states that the Board is composed of "any other part-time members, representing, in equal numbers, employees and employers, that the Governor-in-Council considers necessary to discharge the responsibilities of the Board". The Canada Industrial Relations Board
is an independent, representational, quasi-judicial tribunal.Its mandate is to interpret and apply the provisions of Part I of the Canada Labour Code dealing with bargaining rights and unfair labour practices.
