Rabbi Eliana Falk is the enthusiastic spiritual leader of Beth El Synagogue in Woodbury, Conn., and committed to sharing the beauty of Jewish life and welcoming all who seek its wisdom. At Beth El, she has encouraged a culture of kindness that has doubled membership and has founded an innovative school in which children and parents learn together, increasing their knowledge and love of being Jewish. She feels honored to be an RWB Fellow and to blog at, and is appreciative of the pluralistic prism through which she attained her ordination at the Academy for Jewish Religion where she was twice awarded the Herschel J. Matt Creative Liturgy Award. She serves on the boards of several Jewish and community organizations, and as a hospice chaplain. Before ordination, she had a successful career as the communications director for Jewish organizations.

Rabbi Eliana Falk
Rabbi Falk was ordained in 2013 at the Academy for Jewish Religion, a pluralistic seminary in New York. Because she has learned through the prism of the traditions of all of major and minor Jewish movements, she is skilled in leading a synagogue community that values tradition and welcomes innovation. She is dedicated to environmental activism as well as interfaith relations.

Eliana Falk Eliana Falk is near completion of her studies as a rabbinical student at the Academy for Jewish Religion. She is passionate about Jewish pluralism and respectful intra- and inter- faith dialogue. She has served as the communications director of the Connecticut office of the ADL and the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven. For the past 5 years, she has been a fellow with the Center for Christian Jewish Understanding based in Fairfield, Conn., and has been involved with interfaith clergy associations in the areas in which she has held student pulpits. She also served as education director at Congregation Or Shalom in Orange, Conn.

Rabbi Eliana Falk is dedicated to revealing the depth and beauty of Jewish life
Rabbi Falk served as the Education Director of Congregation Or Shalom Hebrew School in Orange, Conn., for three years. She worked closely with the rabbi to update the curriculum and administered all aspects of the 105-student school where she also taught upper grades. She taught Jewish history for two years at MAKOM Hebrew High School in Woodbridge and has prepared many students for their B'nai Mitzvah, personalizing goals and learning to the needs of each student, and ensuring a meaningful life-cycle journey designed to awaken each candidate to his/her Jewish life, identity and pride.
Rabbi Falk has served as Beth El's rabbi since 2008. She expects to receive her ordination at the Academy for Jewish Religion in May 2013.
