AWARDS DISTRIBUTED: Sheriff Eli Rivera received the Community Action Hero Partner award for his efforts to reduce access to prescription medications for the second year in a row, picking up excess prescription drugs from 7 Southwestern Community Services properties netting over 60 pounds of excess or expired prescription medications.

ATTENDEES: Jane LaPointe - Consultant, Diane Riley, Monadnock Covenant Church, Kasey LaFlamm - Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, Darlene Ayotte - Monadnock Regional School District ACES Program Director, Eli Rivera - Cheshire County Sheriff, Kate McNally - MADAC Chair, Lauren Bressett - MADAC Treasurer, Polly Morris- Coordinator MVP, Elyse Adams - MVP Project Assistant, Sarah Johnston - MADAC Events Coordinator, Beth Mundahl - KSC Counselor, Mary Drew- Director MADAC.
Eli stated he received a letter from CVS saying they were willing to help with the take back, for example its stores could be a collection site as well as promoting it in the media. Mary will get Eli some posters and with the help of MVP and Eli, produce ads for media collaborative and posters for the April 26th takeback event. Eli has also agreed to pick up Rx from 7 of Southwestern Community Services properties aligning with the DEA event, and is considering adding 2 more senior citizens housing sites.
