Green Jobs-Green New York Project Coordinator
Elana Bulman manages the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Green Jobs-Green New York (GJGNY) program for Pratt Center.
offers training, coordination, and implementation support to 14 community organizations in NYC that engage homeowners, building owners, and small businesses to make energy efficiency improvements and help job seekers find green jobs.
Prior to her position at the Pratt Center, Elana worked with El Puente, a community-based organization in north Brooklyn, conducting on-the-ground outreach for GJGNY.
At El Puente
also helped launch a community solar power project and an initiative to envision new uses for vacant lots.
planned and led a Summer of Solutions program in the Twin Cities, MN that trained teenagers and young adults to create community-based solutions to climate change.
She served on the Advisory Council of Grand Aspirations, the national non-profit that supports Summer of Solutions programs.
Elana holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Eugene Lang College at The New School University.
At The New School, she
received the Lewis Rudin Memorial Scholarship in Urban Studies and an India China Institute Fellowship to research the connection between yoga and environmental activism in India.
She is also a certified Building Analyst from the Building Performance Institute.
She is an active volunteer member of several local and national initiatives for social, economic, and environmental justice.
