Edwin Nevis Edwin Nevis is the CEO and Group Head, Banking Operations and Global Shared Service Centres (GSSCs)
Prior to his move to Chennai, Edwin was the Head of Global Shared Service Centre, Kuala Lumpur and Chief Information of Officer Standard Chartered Bank, Malaysia.
During his 11-year tenure in Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Singapore, he took on a number of regional and project director roles. During his three and a half years in KL, Edwin has introduced a number of reengineering and automation initiatives to drive productivity and scalability.
Edwin has over three decades of professional experience in the Standard Chartered Group, spanning a wide gamut of banking services. He started his career in SCB Malaysia and spent a brief time in the Consumer Banking and Wholesale Banking areas before moving on to Technology. The major portion of his tenure in Malaysia was spent in the technology space and he served as the country head of Technology in Malaysia for a number of years.
During his 10-year tenure in Singapore, he took on a number of regional and project director roles. He was a key member of the Group's Multi Business Processing (MBP) initiative which resulted in the setting up of the Group's two GSSCs, one in Chennai and another one in KL.

SIPL CEO Edwin Nevis in India said China is a growing market for the company. "We are looking at having centralised operations in China," he said. "Currently, we have around 200 employees working in China and will be increasing it three-fold by the end of 2009."

As well as increasing its headcount, Scope is improving its existing technology and tools that are used in banking transactions. Nevis said SIPL is also planning to consolidate its contact center operations across the globe.
