BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Brunswick County School Superintendent Edward Pruden has gone on the offensive against the school board, which he says plans to oust him at a meeting Wednesday.
In an e-mail sent to media this afternoon, Pruden
says the board's special meeting called for 9 a.m. Wednesday is to consider his

Pruden announced earlier this year he was stepping down as superintendent at the end of his contract on June 30, 2015.
"I stand ready, willing and able to complete my contract and work for the students and community until June 30," Pruden
"I do not understand the board's decision to change leadership so abruptly, seven months prior to my scheduled departure.
This could result in two transitions in the superintendency prior to the beginning of the next school year."
Pruden has been superintendent since July 1, 2010.
