U.S. District Court Clerk Ed Klecker said an initial jury survey was sent last week to 1,200 people in 12 southeastern North Dakota counties.
"We expect a fair number of people who ask that they not be considered for agricultural and other reasons," Klecker said Tuesday. From the first round of questionnaires, the jury pool will be whittled down to 500 people for more intensive questioning.
Originally, a lot of people seemed to understand this as a computer glitch, but clerk Edward Klecker says he cannot blame the problem on the software system. He says his team spent the day fixing the selection system and he fully expects it to be up and running by tomorrow at 9 a.m.
