The collection benefits clients of Star of Hope and is the 27th annual drive organized by Ed Gardner, a certified public accountant and owner of Edward M. Gardner, P.C.>
This year Gardner has brought together the 8,000-member Houston CPA Society
, B'nai B'rith
, the Financial Planning Association
, Temple Sinai Men's Club
and Houston Chapter of Hadassah
to pack and sort the items collected.
"All you need to do is box and bag dry staple food items, clean usable clothing, toys and other household items that you no longer need, put them in the car and drive them to the collection site," Gardner
"This program provides food when a family may not be able to eat, good clothes for children for school, a new suit for a dad or mom who needs to look for a job, toys for children during the holidays and sheets and blankets when the weather tends to be cold," Gardner
