Eddie Pollard, principal of Tyrone Elementary, has been elected to the 15-member board of directors for the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) in a nationwide election. Pollard began his three-year term as director of zone 4 on July 1, representing elementary and middle school principals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Board members as advocates for our profession," says Pollard
."I am honored to serve the profession in this way, and as has been the case regardless of the level in which I have served, my focus on doing whatever it takes for our children to become successful continues."Pollard has been a member of NAESP since 1987.During that time he has served as a state representative, been a delegate, served on the No Child Left Behind Task Force and served as a co-trainer for new state representatives.At the Georgia Association of Elementary Principals, where Pollard has also been a member since 1987, he was the district president (1996-1997) and the district legislative chair (1994).
