Away from the conservatoire Ed Puddick has played trombone in various function bands, show bands and big bands as well as working with the ABRSM in launching the jazz syllabus.
On drums, Ed
is a memeber of the Percy Pursglove piano trio and has enjoyed recording engagements for BBC Radio. As an educator, Ed has worked on improvisational/compositional workshops with Birmingham-based community music group Sound It Out, Impro, a community music group run in conjunction with Middlesex University by Eddie Parker and is currently working for Barnet Borough Music Service & Havering Music School as well as running jazz projects for Enfield Arts Support Service.

have been heard at the Adrian Boult Hall
in Birmingham, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and the Midland Arts Centre
in Edgbaston.Ed has worked with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra in presenting several of his new works for this internationally renowned 22-piece ensemble.

Big Band, Ed Puddick has written more than fifty original intrumental compositons and vocal arrangements, including the highly-regarded Guys & Dolls Suite; first performed in September 2006.In March 2004 the Ed Puddick Big Band recorded the album 2002-2004 documenting all the music he
wrote for the band during that time.
...In 2006, Ed became the musical director of the Top Brass Jazz Orchestra.
This ensemble has been running for more than thirty years and is regarded as one of the leading rehearsal bands in the country.Recent performances include a very sell-out show at the Watford Palace Theatre on 6th Feb 2008.
