Ed Carroll has been named the new chief Meteorologist at ABC40 in Springfield.
Carroll served as chief meteorologist at WGGB-TV from 1989 to 1993, moving on to WBZ-TV in Boston from 1993 to 2005.

Ed Carroll is chief meteorologist for abc40 and Fox6, and is a native New Englander.
After graduating from Plymouth State University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in meteorology, he spent two years in New York working for a private weather service.
Ed's television career started at abc40 in 1989, where he remained until 1993, which was the year he recieved the New England Emmy Award for Best Broadcast Meteorologist.
Ed joined WBZ TV in Boston in 1993 and spent over 10 years with the station before returning to abc40 and Western Massachusetts in 2006.
