Mr. Ransom attended the University of Vermont and Mrs. Ransom worked as a secretary at GE until the birth of their first child.
From then on, she stayed at home raising her family. She volunteered for over 20 years at C.P. Smith Elementary School, tutoring students in math and reading. The school community recognized this service by presenting her with The Golden Apple Award. Throughout her life, she shared her love and knowledge of nature with generations of family, friends and neighbors. She was an active member of the Heineberg Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing the piano, becoming a pool shark, and where she joined the Red Hat Society.
