Boykins, Miller will see familiar faces
...
Earl Boykins was having a good time.
...
For Boykins, the Clippers were the first team to sign him to a guaranteed, multiyear contract. After two years that included 10-day contracts, Boykins was presented with a three-year deal in 2000.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me," said Boykins, who played with the Clippers from 2000-01 to 2001-02.
...
That hardly was the case with Boykins.During his stay, he became good friends with Elton Brand and Corey Maggette, the only players remaining from when Boykins was there and also the only ones left from Miller's stopover.
"We're very close," Boykins said."We were all basically young guys who had just come into the league. . . . I'm happy they're in the playoffs, but I'm not happy they're playing against us."
After spending time with three teams in his first two seasons, Boykins got a three-year, $2 million offer from the Clippers, although the third year wasn't guaranteed. The 5-foot-5 Boykins, regarded by some NBA observers then merely as a novelty act, jumped at the chance.
Boykins, stashed on the injured list, averaged 6.5 points in 10 games in 2000-01.He averaged 4.1 points in 68 games the next season before the cost-cutting Clippers waived him.
"When I was there, we almost made the playoffs," Boykins said of the 2001-02 team that went 39-43 and finished five games out of the final playoff berth."It was positive around L.A. toward the team.I knew eventually they would turn the corner."
Boykins signed as a free agent in 2002 with the Golden State Warriors before moving on to Denver as a free agent in summer 2003.

So leave it to Boykins and Eisley to join in for pregame hugs and handshakes.
