Johnson, the mayor, asked Alward to resign, saying it would help restore harmony to the borough. Alward said this week that the dispute ended up unfairly pitting her against the Police Department. "It's all water under the bridge now," Johnson said.

Johnson said Hooker's budget would mean a savings of $100,000 a year for Lawrence Park and a savings of between $20,000 and $30,000 a year for Wesleyville.
