E. J. Johnson is Professor of Architecture at Williams College. He is the author and editor of five books: Sant’Andrea in Mantua: The Building History (Penn State University); Charles Moore: Buildings and Projects 1949-1986 (Rizzoli); Memphis: An Architectural Guide (University of Tennessee Press); Style Follows Function: Architecture of Marcus T. Reynolds (Washington Park Press); Drawn from the Source: The Travel Sketches of Louis I. Kahn (Williams College Museum of Art and MIT Press). He earned his Bachelor of Arts at Williams College, and his Master of Arts and Ph.D. at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. Professor Johnson frequently guides architectural tours to Italy where he had studied Renaissance architecture on a Fulbright Scholarship when he was a student.
