More than 1,000 people can be found sledding at Brandywine Creek State Park the day after a snowstorm, said park superintendent Dwight Anttila.
"We usually get [the park's] roads and lots open within 12 hours after a snowstorm," Anttila
Just as important as the sledding location is making sure children are dressed appropriately for the season.Besides wearing cold-weather clothing, they should be well-covered in case they take a tumble off their sled.
A heavy, snug coat, a good pair of boots, a hat and gloves will not only keep you warm but help keep snow away from fingers and toes.
Parents, however, should be careful to avoid bundling up a child too tightly, or he
won't be able to move easily enough to enjoy the snow.
