Duncan Campbell: Chair of the Board of Directors
Duncan Campbell joined the National Library of Scotland in 2004 as Director of Corporate Services, and has held the role of Deputy Chief Executive since 2011.
He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, with significant experience in organisational development, change management, reward and performance.
In addition to 11 years as Head of Administration in Strathclyde Police, Duncan has previous experience working in central UK government, managing major IT projects.Having taken partial early retirement in April 2015 he is currently working on secondment to the Scottish Government in a small team developing shared services across the Scottish public sector.

In younger days he was a qualified water ski instructor and latterly has been a keen cyclist with Kinross Cycling Club, holding the post of Secretary between 2013 and 2016.
