DOUGLAS C. LORENZ, D.O., F.O.C.O.O.
Comprehensive Ophthalmology/Cataract/Refractive Surgery Medical Director Dr. Lorenz received his B.S. at Central Michigan University in 1977 and earned a medical degree at the University of Health Sciences in 1983. Dr. Lorenz completed his internship at the Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan where he also completed his residency in Ophthalmology. Dr. Lorenz attained Board Certification in 1991 and was briefly in private practice before joining Nevada Eye and Ear in 1991. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the clinic. Dr. Lorenz specializes in cataract surgery with advanced technology lenses such as the ReSTOR®, TECNIS® and Crystalens® intraocular lenses in order to reduce your dependence on eye glasses. He has performed over 3000 surgeries in the last 5 years. He is also one of the first ophthalmologists in Nevada to be certified on the LENSAR® femtosecond system. Dr. Lorenz is currently serving as the principle investigator for Rebanipide Opthical Suspension in the treatment of Dry Eyes and had previously served as a clinical investigator for studies of new glaucoma medications.
