Douglas L. "Doug" Hokenstad
Doug, an attorney who received his Juris Doctor degree with honors, joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent in 1964.
Throughout his 30 year career, Doug served in both investigative and supervisory capacities.
investigated complex cases including truck hijackings, organized crime, political corruption, and government fraud.
supervised a squad of 20 agents and reviewed, on an ongoing basis, 900 cases including extortion, kidnapping, and interstate transportation of stolen property.
served a principal legal counsel for the Omaha Division of the FBI
which included both the states of Iowa and Nebraska.
As such, he
was additionally responsible for supervising the Freedom of Information/Privacy Act, Civil Forfeiture, and Civil Litigation Programs.
also conducted training seminars for law enforcement agencies on the subjects of supervisory and management civil liability, pursuit driving, deadly force, employment discrimination, and criminal procedures matters.
Doug joined Acceptance Insurance Companies in 1997 as an Independent Investigator for the Special Services Unit and conducted several insurance fraud and arson investigations involving multi-million dollar losses.
Acceptance Insurance developed Independent Investigative Network (INET) and Doug began working for INET from its inception.
investigations included background investigations, arson, legal matters, motor vehicle accidents, unlawful employment practices, and white collar crime.
When INET decided to reduce their outside work load, Doug decided to join SCIS.
is licensed in both the states of Nebraska and Iowa.
