Hawaii is filled with pet lovers but not everyone who owns a pet appreciates the potential beneficial impact to one's health according to Dr. Douglas Chang, president of the Aloha Animal Hospital Associates on Oahu. He has observed that his (human) clients seem to have better health than the general population. With the economy still on unsure footing, Dr. Chang says that "many veterinarians across the nation have seen a decline in regular office visits due to the perceived expense, but essentially, an investment in your pet's health is really an investment in your own health.

According to Dr. Chang, "It is not so much a matter of "we need pets" or "pets need us".

Dr. ChangAfter many years doing business with another bank, Dr. Douglas Chang, owner of Aloha Animal Hospital, was beginning to feel like a small fish in a big pond. His veterinary business flourished and he needed to expand. But, Dr. Chang's financial institution did not respond to the urgency of his needs.
Realizing that running a business requires a range of skills and talents that few men or women can master alone, Dr. Chang came to Central Pacific Bank for help.CPB Business Relationship Officer Kirk Mento took the time to learn about Dr. Chang's business plans and future goals.
...
As Dr. Chang's business banker, CPB provided one-stop service for all his financial management needs.
"Once we had a clear picture of Dr. Chang's business and expansion plans, we immediately set him up with a professional line of credit and business checking account to help make his plans a reality" says Mento.

Dr. Chang also signed up with CPB Business Advantagesm, a comprehensive benefits program designed for small businesses.Substantial savings can be realized through discounted and special rates for common business products and services including airfare, hotel accommodations, car rental, equipment leasing and much more (actual savings may vary). And, CPB has recently added even more benefits to this already valuable package of services and discounts.
For more information about this program and other developments, please contact your business relationship officer who will help you select the services that will best benefit you and your business.

Last week, we welcomed back Dr. Douglas Chang, veterinarian at Aloha Animal Hospital, also known as "Doctor Doogie" (I don't remember who gave him the nickname; it preceded my arrival on the morning newscast).

The tern was, understandably, not exactly thrilled to be on television, and registered its displeasure by biting Dr. Chang's finger. It apparently didn't bite very hard, since the doc didn't even flinch.Or maybe he's just used to being bitten by animals.
Animals are always unpredictable (we still have a clip of a goat Dr. Chang brought in that, well, relieved itself, live on the air), and no doubt we'll have more episodes of such unpredictability on a monthly basis when he comes to visit.
