Cornerstone Baptist Church Pastor Doug Samples gave a quick prayer asking for a blessing for the whole town, and for the volunteers to have strength to continue in the process of rebuilding the town.
The prayer Samples offered to everyone was PSALM 118:19-29 from the book of "The One Year Bible New Living Truth Translation."
Ironically, the prayer he
read is for May 22, the day the tornado changed Windsor forever. The word 'cornerstone' in the prayer makes it even more chilling.
had never opened the book until after the tornado.
When finished with the reading, he
offered anyone in the circle to give prayer, everyone that spoke echoed the same message of hope, gratefulness to the volunteers and countless donations they have received.
said today's No. 1 goal was for the Cornerstone area to hear the church bells. He
said the outlook for the town is very positive, and he
feels that the town has gotten back to its roots of helping one another. He
said "the fences are gone," and neighbors can now help neighbors.
In an e-mail he
received from a women, she
wrote that she
did not know her
neighbors all too well. After the storm struck, though, the woman and her
neighbors have bonded from eating free meals with one another.
