Doug Phelps - Bass Guitarist and Lead Vocalist for The Kentucky HeadHunters
started playing bass on his
dad's 67 Fender Red Mustang Guitar in
church, but his
Uncle Dub Phelps gave him his
first real bass at the
age of 10.
It was a 1966 Fender Jazz that he
still plays to this day!
When the HeadHunters formed in March of 1986, Doug
purchased a 1958 Fender Precision Bass from a good friend at
Sumner County Music Store in Gallatin, TN.
That's the bass he
the first two Kentucky HeadHunter cd's, the multiple platinum,

platinum "Electric Barnyard".
