Doug has always been physically active, dabbling in a wide variety of sports. A soccer injury led to knee surgery and physical therapy, but the end result was limited range of motion in the joint. A friend suggested yoga, and after only a month of regular classes he regained full use of his leg. Doug was sold on yoga-and had discovered a new way to develop strength, flexibility and mental stamina. Following four years of developing practice, Doug attended LHAA's Yoga Teacher Training program and became a RYT (registered yoga teacher) with the Yoga Alliance. Physically, Doug credits yoga with eliminating chronic back pain through core strength development and improved awareness of his body in space-better posture in everyday activities. Mentally, yoga continues to help him develop an understanding of himself and and his relationship to the world. Doug is a more relaxed and happier individual as a result of his practice.
