Doug S. Brown, MBA, CPA
Doug Brown is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Montana State University-Billings where he teaches courses in financial accounting, auditing, business law, and management.
Prior to joining Montana State University-Billings, Mr. Brown was Lead Auditor for Chevron Corporation where he audited Chevron USA's oil and gas accounting functions and provided auditing expertise for large disputed construction contracts between Chevron and major vendors.
consulting experience has included internal consultation with large oil and gas, construction, and public accounting firms.
has also worked with small businesses, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations.
regularly presents seminars for a national firm which provides professional training across the United States.
has broadened the scope of his
consulting activities by adding employee empowerment, management of work-related stress, and diversity to the technical training he
provides in internal auditing.
During his fifteen years in the auditing field, Mr. Brown has held senior positions at Crown Zellerbach and Fluor Corporations, served as Associate and Staff Auditor for BP America, and worked as a staff auditor for Coopers and Lybrand.
Today, in addition to his busy schedule in teaching and consulting, Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors of the Montana Rescue Mission Bargain Store and the Deering Community Health Center in Billings, Montana.
has written numerous technical articles in the accounting and internal auditing field, and has begun to publish on work-related stress for auditors and others.
