Congratulations to Dottie Stoner!
Family Health West
is proudly congratulates Dottie Stoner
on the completion of her
Family Nurse Practitioner training.
Stoner will transition from being the Director of Nursing in the Family Health West Nursing Home to providing her new service role in the Continuum of Care.
"I hope this benefits FHW by having an on-site provider who knows Family Health West's tradition of caring," said Stoner
Stoner has been with Family Health West since 1999 and enjoys working for the organization.
"My goal has always been to take care of all people in the community regardless of their ability to pay and may even consider chickens in trade," adds Stoner
, "Thanks to my family, Family Health West and Western Valley Family Practice, I was able to complete my goal."

The Fruita nurse practitioner was tired of seeing people pay hundreds of dollars for sore throats at the ER, so Dottie Stoner decided to open up her own clinic.
She is a full time Nurse Practitioner at Fruita Family Health West in Fruita.
says, "In the emergency room, we saw quite a few people who were coming in that didn't have insurance, or Medicaid Medicare patients that couldn't find a provider in the valley."
says, "Some of those visits were something that a family practice could follow, sore throat ear aches or cough.
says, "People have lost their jobs, their income and their insurance."
family practice will take patients who have nowhere else to turn.
says, "If people can get in to where they can afford preventative services such as exams, health and wellness immunizations those types of things, then it may prevent them from being sicker later."
says, "I am here to provide access to health care to everyone in the community not just those fortunate enough to have health care insurance.
