Robert C. Laben, 84, and Dorothy L. Laben, 91, were on a Sunday drive when they became stuck in an isolated area northwest of Cache Creek Casino Resort, according to Robert LaBrash, deputy county coroner.An autopsy on Dorothy Laben had not been completed.Authorities considered Dorothy Laben a missing person and launched a widespread search before finding her body a short distance from their truck shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, LaBrash said.Dorothy Laben was born in Yonkers, N.Y., in 1914, and graduated from Wellesley College and Connecticut College for Women.She reared four children and dedicated the past three decades to work with the Food Bank of Yolo County and groups like the League of Women Voters, according to her son Robert."She was basically a city kid, and he was a farm kid," he said Monday from his parents' Davis home.After the Labens married in 1946, Dorothy Laben taught chemistry at Oklahoma A&M University while Robert Laben pursued a master's degree in animal breeding, according to a UC Davis biography.
