Dorothy Porcher Holland
is a "cradle" Episcopalian, and grew up in the churches of Charleston, SC.
She graduated from The College of Charleston in 1995.
earned an Infant/Toddler Specialist credential from the Center For Montessori Teacher Education
in 1997, and has spent 6 years teaching in Montessori toddler environments.
She served for four years as a volunteer youth worker and seven years as a full time youth minister at The Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul.
For the last two years, she
has been the (part-time) youth/children's minister at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
Dorothy has served as Chaplain at Camp St. Christopher, and been Director or Co-Director of several VBS programs and spent many years leading lunch-time Bible studies in public and private schools.
completed the 3-6 year old level in the Montessori inspired faith formation program Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in 2003 and has begun the year-long certification training for the 6-9 year old level.
Having taken both courses in Pastoral Crisis Intervention, Dorothy
is an occasional volunteer with the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, on call for emergencies involving youth and children.
has been married to her husband, Jonathan, for eight years.
