"Bay State Gas has contacted all suppliers and are ensured of their support, tracked down embedded chips and replaced them where necessary, compiled extensive ‘just in case' contingency plans and held detailed readiness drills," said Dorothy Hawkins, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Bay State Gas Company.
"Bay State has also been coordinating its efforts with those of regulatory agencies, industry groups, pipeline companies, auditors and emergency response groups to ensure that we work together as a team."
Bay State will have an extended staff working Dec. 31/ Jan. 1 weekend to answer customer calls and meet customer needs."Utilities are used to planning for the unexpected," Hawkins
