as Vice President and Chief Information OfficerWestborough, Mass., Sept. 1, 1999 - Dorothy M. Hawkins was recently elected Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Bay State Gas Company by the Board of Directors.She had previously served as Director, Information Technology for NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) of Merrillville, Ind., Bay State's parent company, and NI's Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) subsidiary since 1996."Dorothy Hawkins brings proven I/S experience and leadership to this position," said Jeff Yundt, Bay State's President and Chief Executive Officer.
...Hawkins joined NIPSCO as a Systems Analyst in 1981 after working as an information systems consultant.She was named Customer Information Systems Supervisor in 1991 and was promoted to Customer Information Systems Manager in 1995.Hawkins received a degree in applied science and computer technology from Purdue University and expects to complete her master's degree in management from Northwestern University next year.
