Dorothy Gmiterko
Dorothy Gmiterko is one of our long-time volunteers serving in the Ortonville and Graceville communities. She has been a Rice Hospice volunteer for more than twenty years. She has two sons, two daughters, and five grandchildren. Dorothy was a nurse, having worked at the University of Minnesota Hospital and the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. After retiring, dorothy worked for the American Cancer Society and led the "I Can cope" series in the Ortonville/Graceville area. Her interests include embroidery, quilting, gardening, visiting, and Bingo. Dorothy finds great satisfaction in doing things for others, sharing whatever she can with whatever she has, and reminiscing with those who have shared the same experiences.
