Mr. Bartling was an officer in the United States Air Force from 1942-1946.He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ohio State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.He started his career with Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Ford City, Pennsylvania.He became division manager for W. C. McBride, Inc., in Tulsa, Oklahoma In 1954 he was one of the founders of the Apache Corporation and later became president of Apache Oil Company.He was the first president of the Oil Investment Institute.In 1968, he became president of Ada Oil Company.In 1971, he formed Bartling Oil Company, where he served as CEO.He
practice until his
death, but his
priorities were always with his
family.He was a Certified Petroleum Geologist, a member of River Oaks Country Club, The Petroleum Club, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, S.I.P.E.S., and Grace Presbyterian Church.Mr. Bartling
