Remember When was the title assigned to Doris Schroeder when she was asked to be a community columnist by the editor of the Hutchinson News in 2007.
Starting as a weekly part of the Taste of Life page, it has become a bi-monthly column.
In 1988, Doris began writing a column Now and Then for the Ledger, a paper once serving Buhler, Inman, and Moundridge area.
I Remember was the weekly column she
wrote in the Rural Messenger, starting in 2005, and continues to this day.
In 2006, she started writing articles in the Kansas Senior Times as well as a column, The Good Ole Days.
has written articles for Cappers, Grit, Brave Hearts, and other publications.
She is a member of the Hutchinson Writer's Club, has been secretary and president of the 6 th District, Kansas Authors Club and served as the state president for three years 2004-2006, and now serves as the state KAC parliamentarian.
grew up writing stories on her

life was similar to The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie.
While attending Buhler High School, she was co-editor and editorial writer for the school paper, The Crusader.
Doris is on the local board of Stonecroft's Hutchinson Christian Women's Club, and on the board of the Young at Heart Ministries.
participates in a Hutchinson women's jail ministry.
Doris loves to write columns remembering the times when life was simple and direct.

became a Christian and how God has helped her
